However, I think this PR is more speaks for itself. Looking for a bailout? Need a recovery plan? Want to get a health stimulus package? Look no further! September is National Yoga Month! Whether people need to de-stress after a hard day at work or get energized for a day of job hunting yoga can be a mind body fitness bailout. The Yoga Health Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is coordinating National Yoga Month in partnership with thousands of yoga studios and teachers. One Week Free Yoga during National Yoga Month September. Throughout the month of September, people across the country will have access to an entire week of free yoga classes. This offer is part of the National Yoga Month awareness campaign which is designed to educate, inspire and generate awareness of the positive impact of yoga on health. In 2008, the Department of Health and Human Services designated September as National Yoga Month. That same year, thousands of yoga and health enthusiasts participated in a 10 City Yoga Health Festival Tour featuring yoga classes, lectures, music, entertainment, green, health and wellness exhibits. In these tough economic times taking care of our health (mind and body) doesn’t have to take a back seat. Yoga is one great way to beat the recession blues and strengthen our bodies. Whether people are trying it for the first time or are experienced yogis looking to deepen their practice, there’s never been a more opportune time to practice yoga. The economy and job losses are always on our minds these days, causing anxiety and fear. But yoga provides an accessible way to manage stress for anyone. “Preventative wellness can be accessed by simply unrolling a yoga mat. Everyone is looking for ways to take an active role in managing health. There are readily available solutions that don’t necessarily require insurance or even a doctor,” said Johannes R. Fisslinger, co-founder of National Yoga Month and Yoga Health Foundation. People across the Nation are encouraged to participate in the national awareness campaign by getting One Week of Free Yoga. The free yoga classes and events can play a vital part of a personal recovery plan and stimulus package. Join millions of yoga and health enthusiasts at hundreds of events nationwide and around the world during National Yoga Month September. Deepen your commitment to a healthy lifestyle by celebrating the transformative power of yoga. Yoga Month invites adults, youth and children to engage in an awareness campaign designed to draw attention to the many benefits of yoga and inspire our fellow citizens to live healthier, happier lives. Visit the National Yoga Month website to receive One Week Free Yoga and to search for local events. But this notepad is different. It’s a flipbook of your video. Remember the flip book? I remember taking notepads and drawing images on the bottom corner to tell a story. For the most part they were stick figures, but one time I recreated a panning of the inside of the Sistine chapel. Ok, I didn’t, but I did once make a more elaborate flip drawing. The best part is pricing is pretty good on this. The lowest price for a single flipbook is $8.99, but if you buy in bulk, you can see $4.99 per book. Add $3 for shipping and you have a memory that can also be a great gift. Check it out – the company’s name is Flipclips VN:F [1.5.7_846] ..I\'m getting to it...Rating: 0.0/7 (0 votes cast)VN:F [1.5.7_846]Rating: 0 (from 0 votes) Posted in Product of the Week | No Comments » Gotta love innovation – A Bananna Injector? August 25th, 2009 Can you believe some of the cool inventions that we don’t use today? Check this one out – It’s a Bananna injector. It was a patent for a needle – like injector that not only takes out the middle of the bananna, but also can fill it with things like Ice Cream, cream cheese or jelly. Ya know, you add a stick to that and even chocolate coat it. Sprinkles on top. And a Cherry. Mmmmmm. The patent was filed on July 4, 1933 by Phillip Marchio. It is United States Patent 1917137. It’s a depiction of the 70’s and 80’s 8-bit world as done through Lego’s. Sounds funny, huh? Well, it’s true. The camera work on this video is pretty interesting. I loved the “Matrix” feel during the Pac-Man scene. The ghost was about to get Pac-Man and everything slowed down as the camera turned. Awesome. One note when you check this out – make sure your volume is down, the 8-bit soundtrack is a bit piercing. August 20th, 2009 It’s almost like when Jimmi Hendrix came up on the Woodstock stage and blasted the Star Spangled banner for all the attendees. Except this was on YouTube and it wasn’t Woodstock, but a Wood Bat – Louisville Slugger to be exact. Glenn Donnellan of the National Symphony Orchestra uses a Derek Jeter Louisville Slugger bat strung like a violin to play this patriotic song. The coolest thing is that the bat doesn’t sound half bad. Then again, it was miced up so we may be hearing a great job of post processing. This brings a whole new question to baseball. Not whether the bat was corked, but if it was tuned. Rosin is OK though. And if he wants it to be more “Hendrix” authentic, for a finale, he should set it on fire, then hit a home run with it. Every year the Meteor showers grace the nighttime sky with a blast of light. I remember years past sitting at a campsite watching for errant rocks that skim across the atmosphere, then making a wish upon the brightness that was upon me. It’s amazing how a night like that can put you a peace. Just you and the sky – looking out into space. Hoping that you will see at least one burst of light so you can do the traditional wish. Of course, if you couldn’t see the showers last night, you still have an opportunity in the next few. It just won’t be as prominent as last night. Doesn’t matter though: as long as you can see a proverbial shooting star, it’s all good. August 7th, 2009 Hey SEXY GIRLFRIEND! John Hughes was the man behind the movies that I grew up with. He has created some of the best coming of age films in the 80’s. Some say that Caddyshack is the most quoted movie, well John Hughes has the most quotable MOVIES around. With the exception of Curly Sue and Drillbit Taylor, I have seen all of his movies. Heck, I remember getting bombarded with them during the summer when my sister and brother wanted to watch movies on the Beta machine. I would opt for these movies instead of ‘Grease’. Not Another Teen Movie came out in 2001. Although it was a parody of his movies, I felt it more a testament to John Hughes work. Simply amazing. I have noted the ones I am most fond of below. Check out all the films he has writen, directed or produced. BTW – Jimmy Fallon has been retweeting some of the best quotes from all his movies. Just search on #johnhughesquotes John Hughes – you will be missed. Sixteen Candles (1984) The Breakfast Club (1985) Weird Science (1985) Pretty in Pink (1986) Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) Some Kind of Wonderful (1987) Planes Trains & Automobiles (1987) The Great Outdoors (1988) She’s Having A Baby (1988) Uncle Buck (1989) Home Alone 3 (1997) VN:F [1.5.7_846] ..I\'m getting to it...Rating: 7.0/7 (1 vote cast)VN:F [1.5.7_846]Rating: +1 (from 1 vote) Posted in I'm a Dork | No Comments » The AMAZING CD/DVD Paper Case Folding Tutorial! They’re like fingerless gloves, so why wouldn’t I get fingerless gloves? Then I realized that these were like a second glove to keep your hands warm. For that, I still said “WHY?” For $11.95 from Archie McPhee, you too can get a tidy-widy for the left and right hand. Just hope you don’t have a bully that gives you wedgies. I suppose a little extra work for him or her, but it may keep you away from a swirly or a noogie. Since the handerpants are made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex, you are able to have some tight fitting shorts on your palms. Better to show off the “Hand Package” I guess. Maybe some Handercameltoe? Then again, I prefer boxers. I’ll wait till they come out with Handerboxers. No Handerthongs, though, please. If you saw an urn shaped like the head of the dearly departed, you gotta wonder if they didn’t preserve the head and burn the rest. Cremations Solutions is using 3D facial reconstruction to create these pots to keep the ashes of the loved ones. The skull comes off so you can get to and care for the ashes. If you want something prettier, then Cremations Solutions will do a 3D reconstruction of your favorite celebrity (or as the website says – ‘celebraty’). Maybe Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett or Michael Jackson? Then you can say your Pop was a famous TV show sidekick, I guess. A full size urn will run you $2,600, while the keepsake will only cost $600. To compare, a casket starts at $500. The burial plot can run you as little as $50 or more. Cremation can range from $500 and up. I guess it all depends which way you go.
