Ah… It’s heavenly to play w/, and if it means I have to use it while on bedrest, at that.. well, twist my arm I know I shoot florals a lot, but I couldn’t resist these beauties.. Kaylor, my oldest daughter, brought them in to me over the weekend in a styrofoam cup telling me that they were “feel better” flowers.. Awe.. How could I NOT photograph them? Fingers crossed that I will be released after the next check up, but for now, that’s where ya’ll find me. And most of you that know anything about me, know that being still and not go, go, going is not really in my genetic make up! lol If you feel so compelled, you can read more about my pregnancy here.. (fyi, I show belly skin! haha) I felt so compelled to let everyone know that I have been blown away w/ the offers of meals, errands, house things, help w/ my girls, love, and support that YOU, my clients & fellow colleagues, my extended family have shown myself & my family. I’ve always know that you guys are great and well, just plain awesome, but WOW! It reminds me of this passage, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ”. -Galations 6:3 So, so true! So, hopefully I will physically be up on my feet again soon (literally..lol) and seeing all your wonderful faces for your portrait sessions. When baby A came for her session, she was so excited & entertained by what was going on, she didn’t want to sleep! lol This is the part where I personally feel spoiled, because while I’m working, I get to cuddle a newborn baby! Hmm… twist my arm, right? hehe We actually had to split baby A’s newborn session into two parts to get her to sleep, but this happens sometime! I think it was worth the time & effort, and I hope mom & dad think so too.. Yep, that’s an oxymoron statement! lol I thought I would share a blog post on a couple of Q&A’s about newborn photography. If you ever have questions regarding portrait sessions, please let me know! Who knows, it may even become part of my next blog Q&A What is the difference between a custom photographer and going to a chain storefront location? Part of being a custom photographer means that instead of having a 30-45min window of scheduled opportunity to capture the precious newborn picture that we all want, I dedicate my time & talent knowing that it might take 1 hour, but it also could take up to 3-4 hours. This is one of the qualities of being a custom portrait photographer that I pride myself on. I enjoy what I do, and taking care of my clients’ needs is a huge part of what I do. I ensure them that we WILL get successful shots that they want & deserve of their sweet newborn. What if my baby isn’t sleepy, and doesn’t seem to cooperate to get the cute newborn shots? On occasion I have a newborn that is not in the mood to sleep, or just having a “off”/fussy kind of day.. That’s OKAY. This happens, and I really 100% make sure newborns are comfortable, and work WITH them, not vice versa. It’s important to be comfortable in working w/ newborns & I feel that experience and dedication has given me this quality.
