Just
like us, dogs show all their emotions in the eyes and in subtle changes to
their facial expressions......... Like
a raised eyebrow, tilt of the head, a side ward glance, the determined focus to
get that toy/treat or ball. When they goof around and that all too familiar
guilty look! These expressions and many more make up the character of your dog
and why we love them so much.
*LOSS OF OUR PETS
Whether due to death, being lost or
stolen, is a devastating
and difficult experience we hope never to have to face. It can be as
traumatic as losing a family member and can cause intense emotion and pain. One of the many ways to
overcome the grief can be to memorialize your furry friend in a portrait. It is
a healthy way to remember them at their best......so,
send me a head shot, clear and in focus. A photo which you feel is a true
reflection of your dog's personality and I will capture that same spirit in my
drawing.

Note: The more detailed the photo the more detailed
the drawing!!!
This is an excellent example for a good quality photo.
Great detail in the muzzle, the eye reflections and even the whiskers
are very visible, therefore easy to capture in a sketch.
Tips: to get a photo without the
“blue-eye†or eye shine effect from a flash….
Try
natural light, take your dog outside with the sun at an angle to their gaze,
get down to their eye level (if you can) or if you really really need to use
the flash, have your dog look at something on your shoulder, i.e. a treat or
favorite toy instead of directly at the camera’s flash.
Increase
the light inside the room so that the dog’s pupils are more constricted.
