Wow. That's all I could sit there and say for about 5 minutes after reading Michelle's Post. I can't believe she said it. I can't believe she put it out there. She is a very, very brave woman. She is inspiring, and I am truly beginning to feel a kinship with this woman and believe that God has 'put us together' in bloggyland for a reason. I seriously believe we are meant to help each other.Thank you Michelle for inspiring me. Hi. My name is Kristen. I'm a compulsive eater. I'm also a closet eater. I don't want to hide it anymore. I'm going to shout it from the rooftops. The only way I'm going to fix this is if I admit it and move on. With help from some friends (both real and blogger friends) and the Lord I can overcome anything. You will too. And then we will help other people. Heck--we may even help some people while on our own journey. Are you in?I'm going to start blogging about my weight loss journey. I'll splice some entries in with everything else....after all--don't many Stay-At-Home Moms have the same issues? I'm sure they do. We can't be the only ones. I'm calling out all you moms (and dads) who have issues with food. You eat constantly, you eat when you're upset, you eat in secret.....whatever it is--you have issues and you need to resolve them before you can lose this weight and keep it off. Join me in my journey...I'll post a Mr. Linky on this post. Link up and we can all help each other. Please link to a post about the issue at hand though--no advertising your products, etc. like I've seen on some other blogs. If you want to lose weight and you're serious put it out there...I weigh 234 pounds. I'm 5'7 and 3/4". I'm not healthy at all. I've recently quit smoking but I still can't run around and play with my kids like I should be able to. My knees and back ache from the extra weight I'm carrying. My dad is diabetic, so was his dad. My maternal grandmother was also diabetic. I must have a death wish. Why else would I be so heavy? DIABETES KILLS PEOPLE!!I used to be thin. Too Thin. I used to weigh less than 140 lbs.....and I had chicken legs and a skeleton face. I'll find a picture and show you. Neither one is healthy. I don't want to be unhealthy. I want to live to see my children grow up and get married and have babies. Yes, I've birthed 3 children...but that's no excuse....truth be told I had gained quite a bit of weight before I got preggo the first time.I have a problem with eating. I eat when I'm upset--mad, sad, whatever....if I'm upset I eat. That would be emotional eating. I also eat when I'm bored or just have nothing to do. That would be compulsive eating--I can drive by a pizza restaraunt and not have been hungry....but smelling that food instantly makes me want it. I am also a closet eater. I eat in secret. I'm ashamed of what I'm eating (and the massive quantities) so I do it when no one is watching.Will anyone join me? I know that I don't have a massive quantity of followers like some people but even if you're just perusing my blog and this interests you--Sign Up!! I will be coming up with a prize and rules over the next few days...and I'll have to base the prize on how many people (if any) sign up for this....I don't exactly have a loyal following yet!!..and I'll have to get a button for that too lol....but I'm going to put myself out there in hopes of helping myself and maybe someone else. Hopefully Michelle will join me!! Technology, Twitting, and Tidbits (5/6/09)

Ok, so, thanks G-ma for giving me that hint…lol...yeah, my grandma is the coolest grandma ever...she's giving me hints on my blog for things that would help!! Any-who....I'm officially caught up with some of the world. I signed up for twitter. How to work it? That I'm not doing so well with--but I'll learn. I never thought I would be so technologically behind. Speaking of behind--my phone is now almost a year old but I have had someone ask me recently--"Isn't it about time for a new phone--those are kind of old?"...geez. Disposable Technology. We put up bunk beds for the boys today and it makes the room seem that much more organized and spacious. I'll take a pic and put it up later....once I can walk into the room that is.....(kids and their junk....sorry mom and dad--now I know how you felt!)By the grace of God we believe that the ticket will be dropped. Thank God for friends in law enforcement and nice guys who cut you a break!!Raymond got a new phone....a Blackberry Curve. It works much better than that Blackberry Pearl he had and he can actually receive and send picture messages. Some technology stinks. I like it when the improvements actually work and make things better.We got that new package a/c and heat unit. It's not installed yet--but the guy did sell us (very cheap) a new fan motor so we could have a/c until the new unit is tested and put in. My truck is now fixed too....it starts up and runs without holding the gas and everything!! I'm so proud of my honey. I'm glad that he's mechanically inclined b/c I for one am not!! The air isn't fixed in the truck yet but he does think he knows what the problem is with it. I have decided that when I can't come up with a whole complete set of thoughts that I'll just label it tidbits and keep on movin....b/c sometimes I have stuff to say that doesn't necessarily all come together nicely for a regular blog post. Hey--does anyone know how to do all the cool things with text that I see in other people's blogs like strikethroughs and different fonts? If they do I'd appreciate it if they'd e-mail me @ HandsHouseAndHeartFull@gmail.com or hey--you could twitter it to me (or however it's said!!)...@HandsHouseHeart ....hey that would be cool...I'd get a tweet...isn't that what it's called?

Children, Husbands...and Communication

Ok, I have quite possibly the most wonderful children on the face of the earth. No lie. Flirtster gave me special treatment and it's not even Mother's Day or anything!! I was putting lotion on the baby and he kept asking for some. Finally I gave in, thinking that he would partially rub it on his legs, leaving the usual blob that would wind up smeared all over the couch or something else....but no.... he took it, rubbed his hands together and gave me a leg massage with lotion!! Too cute!! Not bad for a two year old either....ladies watch out because when this kid gets older you are in for it!! He's got mad skills--even at his age.I also believe that my hubby and I are bridging that whole 'communication gap' thing that often happens between women and men. The other day it was getting close to time to feed the baby when I started 'leaking'....and I don't know how many of you have breastfed babies or if this is typical but when you leak 'involuntarily' it hurts!! Since we were at home and I could do so I folded my arms over my chest and put on a little bit of pressure to stop the leak. As I did so I must have made a face because he asked if it hurt when that happened. He thought something was wrong. I tried explaining to him in a way that he would understand, but my explanations were failing. He couldn't understand why something that was made to 'leak' anyway would hurt when it did so. Finally I started to say something about how there was a let down reflex that happened when the baby started to suckle...but since the baby wasn't doing such there was no reflex, I was just leaking because I was too full. Then I said the word "valve" just trying to relate it to something....anything!! All of a sudden it was like the light bulb went on over his head...."DING""So It's like a backflow valve with a busted equalizer springwith surge flow going the wrong direction?"My Reply:"Mmmmm.....sure honey."So then it takes me about 5 minutes to figure out what in the heck he just said....but I've got it figured out now...Women should learn about mechanics and car stuff just for thesimple purpose of being able to relate their problems to their husbands (if nothing else)....and to understand what husbands are saying when they talk about anything....and men should learn to relate to their wives/signifigant others in a waythat actually relates to them....My suggestion: Disconnect your battery so your battery so your ECM will reset.....in a matter of speaking.Translation: Reset your particular way of thinking if you're having trouble with your spouse/signifigant other...try thinking about it from someone else's perspectiveand you may get your point across!!But Hey...once again....these are just some of my random ramblings!!
