Enough for only two + What friends are for By Vance Tan | Nov 17, 2008 Brunei Darussalam, Education, Friends | Comment “What describes something which is good for one, enough for two and not at all for three?” and the answer is a secret. Well, a lot of best friends all around schools and workplaces often share secrets amongst themselves as trustworthy is the thought of them. Certain secrets may reveal the identity and character of someone’s house matters or family matters depending on the situation. While on the contrary, secrets shared between friends may also consist of personal problems of different aspects. Some people really do not know how to control their emotions and blabber-ness and would ocassionally blurt out secrets of their friends in the midst of fun, but unintentionally. If you are that kind of person, what do you do? Of course, a person who unintentionally blabbers secrets in any form is termed to have tattletale disease, as suggested by most people. They would just let out anybody’s secret in just the snap of the fingers. To consider on how to prevent this sort of sickness or illnesses, several ways can be occasionally practiced and take noted. The one most important thing of keeping a secret is to dump away the habit of “You know what”, “I know something..do you want to know”, “Like seriously..oh my god” and even “There’s got one guy…he’s like…”, which usually happens with middle-aged teens. Certain provoking words like the ones stated above are often the gateway to the letting out of a secret. Besides that, you may also consider the harm of letting out a secret that does not belong to you originally. A lot of secrets that are shared to you, particularly your best friend, are often secrets that are quite sensitive. As a matter of fact, letting out a secret which has something to do with his/her family problems may make him/her feel humiliated and face-off. Do not try to whisper your friends secret, even to him/her self in front of a huge crowd as that will be a loophole for people to join in the conversation. People tend to be suspicious if you whisper to your friend and might think that you’re actually gossiping at them. Try to keep cool and ensure that vasodilation should not occur on the cheeks of your face as this would prove that something secret is going on between you and your friend. A word of thanks to the mystery artist: A Bruneian local artist gave Vance Tan a potrait of his drawing this morning to mark the appreciation of the 1st aniversary of Vance Tan Online on 1st November 2008. The drawing drawn using stencil pencil and an eraser is claimed to be the fastest drawing being completed, about an hour only. All the details of the drawing were exactly similar and the artist even designed the potrait accordingly to Brunei’s custom, Melayu Islam Beraja. Vance Tan personally would thank the Mystery Artist (who doesn’t wanted to be named at the moment) for the drawing. What friends are for: as requested by Jasper Wong and Durrah Nafeesah Hj Idris They smile and pose for your website or blog They support you in times of happiness and sadness They spy on you using their hand-made teropong They keep you smiling with their acts Hairy and scary, but sweet and tasty By Vance Tan | Nov 16, 2008 Happenings, Interest, Places | Comment Rambutan is the name of the hairy and scary creature. Growing on medium sized tropical trees, the rambutans are said to be natives of South East Asia and are similarly edible to other tropical fruits found around the region. The growth of rambutan are usually meant for commercial purposes as they would be best buys at the market place or locally known as the Tamu. In industries, rambutans are now used to manufacture jelly or even jams for spreading over wholemeals and begals (which Izan enjoys). However, rambutans are prone to rot easily therefore producers often add some preservatives so that rambutan flavours last longer in cans of food. Tips and advices: Rambutan should not be eaten on a hot day. I replied a little while ago.’ The panicked couple quickly rushed down to the bank to inform the bank staff but they were told that all the money was already withdrawn. The pickpocket had actually used the stolen handphone to text ‘Hubby’ in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from the bank account. The moral of this real-life story is to not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Sayang, Dad, Mum and very importantly, when sensitive information is being asked through texts, always confirm by calling back. Also, when you’re being texted by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them. If you don’t reach them, be very cautious about going places to meet ‘family and friends’ who text you. Enjoying weekend to the fullest, hanging out with friends: Teenagers nowadays love hanging out in towns and streets as this method is believed to depress stress and to keep the body parts exercising. They often can be seen in troops and are dressed in fancy dress codes, sometimes with hairgels and wax stuffed on the hair to look cool and pretty.
