skip to main | skip to sidebar Sunday, April 19, 2009 Wild Card Cricut Cartridge Lots of Options! Happy Sunday Everyone,Today I was very fortunate I had saved up my coupons and rewards certificates and hit my two favorite stores, Michaels and AC Moore. I had been really wanting to purchase the Wild Card Cricut Cartridge, because I heard many good things about it. I was really lucky because it was on Sale at both shops $40 at Michaels and $42 at AC Moore. I picked one up, and started playing around with it, and much to my surprise, it has quite a bit packed into it for your $$.Most cartidges have letters or icons to die cut, but Wild Card has Card bases, liners, icons, Full Alphabet, upper and lowercase, sentiments, numbers ,punctuation and frames which is a lot more that I remember from other cartridges I have gotten in the past.I own the original Cricut machine, and I made a 5 1/2 "card today in 10 minutes!Just thought I would share what a value this is, and encourage you to dive in as well.Patterned Papers are by K & Co. -Wild RaspberryStamps are Stampin Up!- On your Birthday and Oval AllPunches- small Oval and Scalloped Oval by Stampin Up!Ribbon Stampin Up! If you visit her blog, you will find a great guide for cutting and scoring the side step card. Here is a link:http://jackietopa.typepad.com/addicted_to_stamping/2009/02/side-step-card-.htmlToday's video focused on the bunny made from Stampin Up punches. To create the bunny you will need:White Card Stock, Black Cardstock, and a Designer Series paper of your choice for the eggThe following Stampin' Up Punches and I have indicated how many of each following the item:Wide Oval: (3) from white (1) from DSP- 2 for feet, 1 for body, DSP for eggOval: (8)- 4 for ears, 2 for arms, 2 for legs/haunches-all from white1 3/4 Circle- (1) from white for headTriple heart (2) 1 medium heart for nose area. 1 tiny heart for nose, 1 tiny heart for teeth-all white3/4 circle (2) for eyes-from white1/4 circle (2) for eyes- from blackYou will also need:Regal Rose MarkerBlack fine tip MarkerWhite Gel Pentweezers- to make it easierQuickie glue PenAdhesiveI have found to punch everything first, and do a dry fitting of the bunny first helps, then adhere everything down. I don't show it in the video, but the white gel pen is for the eyes...I kept running over time constraints so the video is trimmed, please forgive any talking that may have been edited!I hope you enjoy- Thanks Jackie for a great inspiration!I hope your Easter was wonderful! April brings wonderful things besides showers around here, it brings my Mother's birthday for a start, and my parents wedding anniversary near the end. Today's project is a simple way to make a bouquet of paper flowers like the tin bucket full I made that is shown in the video. For this project you will need:Flower Punch about 1 1/2 inches in sizePatterned Paper that is double sided- I used the Stampin' Up! Salebrations Designer Series Paper PackGlue DotsBradsFloral wireFlorist tapeRibbon- I used SU! Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Very Vanilla 1/4 grosgrain ribbonVessel for your bouquet- I used a tin bucketStyrofoam fillerLace piecesLeaves- Cut using my Cricut Dis Cutting machine- and Walk In the Garden Cartridge-Leaf #3Butterflys were punched out using Martha Stewarts 2 Butterfly Punches.Thank you Candy for helping me fluff up the flowers!I hope you enjoy the simple technique, and make a bunch of these for your friends and family.Wishing you a creative week!Happy Birthday Mom! Posted by Laurel DeViney at 9:32 PM 8 comments Sunday, March 29, 2009 Sunday Crafting- Coasters from tiles & photos Hi Everyone,I am trying to turn over a new leaf and post something every week. Sorry, I have been way too busy... This weeks project does not involve any stamping, but it shows a fun project to make coasters using 4 x 4 ceramic tiles and photographs.Supplies Needed:4 x 4 Travertine Ceramic Tile- available in boxes of 8-10 tiles for approx $7 at Home Depot- try and get the least pitted you can.Modge Podge- Gloss finish glueFoam brushTissue paper8 1/2 x 11 CardstockPaper TrimmerRemovable adhesiveNewspaperKaren Foster- 12 x 12 Adhesive Cork SheetsE-6000 GlueThe most difficult part of this project is printing your photos onto the tissue paper. I have found that cutting the tissue paper down to 8 1/2 x 11 and adhereing it to a sheet of cardstock at the top and bottom, helps in guiding it through your printer, and for trimming. I hold the tissue and the cardstock together as I trim down the photos after they are printed. I then discard the cardstock. As I say in the video, drying is key. I hope you enjoy!Have a creative week! Posted by Laurel DeViney at 6:39 PM 12 comments Sunday, March 22, 2009 Techniques Class Cards Hi Everyone!I know, long time , no post...I am so busy! I did want to post a quick video which shows a few cards I made today following Techniques class from my scraps. Thanks ladies for coming by and learning the techniques. I really enjoy this class series, and I hope you all do too!In todays class two of the techniques we learned were: 1. Dahlia folded flowers, and 2. Glitter lace background, both were fun, but I am still covered in glitter! All supplies used in the cards were Stampin Up!, except as indicated. The lace and sticker paper used to create the lace background- Sticker paper is by Therm-O-Web, lace I bought at JoAnn's out of the remnant bin.Glitter- Stampin Up-Taken with Teal, and Ranger-ClearCardstock- Taken with Teal, WHisper WhiteInk-Taken with TealRibbon- Tempting TurquoiseButterfly Punch- Martha StewartDahlia Folded Flower Card- All products used are by Stampin Up except leaf-by Prima.Card Stock- Rose Red, Whisper WhiteDesigner Paper- Rsapberry TwistRibbon- Rose RedInk- Rose RedBoth sentiments are from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.Hope you enjoy!Wishing you creative days, Posted by Laurel DeViney at 8:41 PM 12 comments Older Posts Subscribe to: Posts (Atom) Paper and Scissors Rock!
