My Philosophy !!~~!! In September of 2000, in fact the day after Labor Day, I was driving south bound down a 4-lane highway divided by a median strip, as I approached a cut across a man traveling north bound, blew through the stop sign hit the rear of my blazer and flipped it upside down sending it sailing down the highway for 300 yards on the roof. Now you might think me crazy for what I am about to tell you, but I will share it anyway. At the moment the Blazer was flipping over I heard a voice say "Don't worry my son, you will have dinner with your family tonight", and a peaceful calm came over me. After the 300 yard slide the Blazer finally came to rest against a guard rail, the smell of gas and motor fluids was around me and I knew I had to get out of that vehicle. The seatbelt was locked in place, I reached in my pocket and got my pocketknife out and cut the seatbelt from me. I then crawled out the passenger side window. It was about 05:30 in the morning when I was hit so by the time I crawled out of the car dawns early light was just starting to break the horizon. I stood up and was able to see what I had survived. Actually hitting and flipping my Blazer and sending it sailing down the highway for the 300 yard slide, was probably the best thing that man could have done for me and probably saved my life. Because the 5 people who were traveling behind me, after he had hit me, they hit him, so my little slide sent me clear of a 6 car pile up. Now I look over at my Blazer, it did not even resemble a blazer anymore. The front end and motor was gone. The drivers side rear quarter panel where I was first hit was gone. The roof was smashed down even to the head rests of the seats. The paint on the passenger side was gone from the slide, so that it was just raw looking metal. All of the windows had imploded. The only things left intact, was the drivers side door, the compartment I was, and the passenger side window I crawled through for my escape. In fact you could not even tell I had been in an accident, except for a few scratches on my forehead from the flying glass. A man that was running down from the big accident scene was yelling at me "Is there anybody alive in that thing?", when I answer him that I was the only passenger, he fainted ! I was raised Roman Catholic and left the teachings of the church at age 13, when my grandmother died and I could not accept the reasoning that the priest and my father gave me for her death, and not being giving to opportunity to say my goodbyes and attend the funeral as it was thought I was too young at the time. So from 13 to 40 I had lived like most of our generation in this Me for Me society that we have nowadays. But as the voice I had heard as my vehicle was flipping over promised, I was having dinner with my family the very same night I had the accident. I began to think that maybe there was more to this thing we call life, and I started to research. I learned about every form of denominational Christianity out there. I enrolled in college again and earned my Bachelors degree in religious education from Masters Divinity University. As I studied I found that a lot or most denominational religions strayed from the original truths that were taught. They adopted clauses and used verses to adapt or make what they taught seem legal. You can not use part of the Word but the whole Word. Wars have been fought, crusades have been started, witch hunt and trials have been conducted, KKK and white supremacy have been taught, slavery has been condoned all in the mis-use of the Word by denominational religions. Religion is man's attempt to reach the Creator, not the Creator's attempt to reach man. I also was and am an ordained minister in Life Universal Church, which is a non denominational non traditional christian church. I have found that the Native American path to the Creator, is the best for me. It has helped me become more intune with myself and develop a stronger relationship with the Creator and a respect of Mother Earth, and a balance for all aspects of my life. The Great Spirit took the elders of the tribes of man, and imprinted His laws into their hearts to be taught to future generations. Treat the Earth and all that dwell thereon with respect! Remain close to the Great Spirit Show great respect for your fellow beings Work together for the benefit of all mankind! Give assistance and kindness wherever needed Do what you know to be right Look after the well-being of mind and body Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good Be truthful and honest at all times Take full responsibility for your actions..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The White Man must treat the beasts of this land as his brother. What is man without the beasts? if all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, also happens to the man. ~ Chief Seattle of the Puget Sound Suwamish Tribe (1855) I have found that the Native American values and spirituality with the Creator are the most genuine and that their intune spirit with Mother Earth and the creatures of the planet and with their fellow mankind are the most christian principles and are exactly what Jesus handed down on the Sermon on the Mount and how He lived his life. The laws handed down by the Great Spirit to the elders of the tribes of man are true proof that Jesus was the Word and also the Great Spirit. I do not judge a fellow person and their method to get close to the Great Spirit or how they choose to follow Him, as long as that method allows them a bond with Him. One of my closest friends, who is Mormon and we have had many discussions and are very good friends. Their LDS faith is very committed and is very strong. I would and will never judge them for their faith as it does bring them closer to the Creator and brings their spirit to His. And in the end that is all that matters… With all this in mind, Warriors for Mother Earth Coalition & One Earth ~ One People ~ One Chance, is a place for peoples of all religions, all nationalities, all backgrounds, Warriors of Mother Earth Coalition is for the benefit of Mother Earth only, that is all that matters. WE are a place for Peace and the future of our precious Mother Earth.Your path to the Creator is yours and yours alone, it is not my place to judge you and your path nor is it your place to judge me and my path. We will not have any religious wars or discussions here. Each man or woman is to choose his/her path to the Creator equally, and it is no one else's business to tell someone their path is wrong !!!!! Wiccan, Buddhist, Islam, Mormon, Catholic, Protestant, Atheists, Native American, and any I missed are all welcomed to be a part of the Warriors for Mother Earth Coalition Team & One Earth ~ One People ~ One Chance. The preservation of Mother Earth & PEACE is the ONLY thing that matters within this place. Not the path someone chooses or not chooses to get to the Creator. This is my opinion and Philosophy. When they grow, give them the space to grow. Avoid hurting the hearts of others. The poison of your pain will return to you. Be truthful at all times. Honesty is the test ones will in the universe. Keep yourself balanced. Your mental self, spiritual self, emotional self, and physical self- all need to be strong, pure and healthy. Work the body to strengthen the mind. Grow rich in spirit to cure emotional ails. Make conscious decisions as to who you will be and how you will react. Be responsible for your own actions. Respect the privacy and personal space of others. Do not touch the personal property of others, especially sacred or religious objects. It is forbidden. Be true to yourself first. you cannot nurture and help others if you cannot help yourself first. Respect others religious beliefs. Do not force your beliefs on others. Share good fortune with others. It was dramatic, controversial, cutting edge, and it was an enormous success. It aired in the United States and Canada in November and December 2008 and is currently airing in Latin America in Spanish. It will be airing very soon on Discovery in Great Britain, Australia, and France and will be reaching audiences in numerous other countries over the next year. Hopefully, it will even air on Discovery Channel in Japan. The filming of Whale Wars Two is now completed. Three months on the most remote and hostile seas in the world provided a thousand hours of video as the raw material for the 2009 airing of the Sea Shepherd voyages to defend the whales from the illegal activities of the Japanese whaling fleet. Whale Wars Two will be far more intense, dramatic, and entertaining than even Whale Wars One because the 2008/09 campaign was more intense than previous years. The Japanese whalers have become more frustrated, angry, and aggressive, and the conflict has escalated considerably. Whale Wars Two will air on June 5th at 9 PM on Animal Planet. It will be at least 10 hours and possibly longer. Many of the same crew will be back, minus last year's defeatists, whiners, and complainers. There are quite a few new faces onboard for this second season as well. The Japanese whalers hate the show, understandably so, and have tried to pressure Animal Planet to cancel it. They even forced the Australian Federal Police to confiscate the videotapes when the ship returned to Tasmania. Fortunately, the tapes had been copied and the police returned the originals three weeks later. This move backfired on the Japanese, adding the element of a Federal police raid to the show and heightening the drama for the new season. Whale Wars has certainly raised the profile of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. In a recent trip across the United States, I found myself being recognized in Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and Seattle. U.S. Customs officials stamping my passport back into the country recognized me and even in Europe numerous people approached me who had seen the show. Finally, our campaigns have reached the audience of Middle America and this is scaring the hell out of the Japanese whalers and the politicians that support them. It took Deadliest Catch, the previously top rated show on Discovery a full three years to reach the level of popularity that Whale Wars has captured in the first season. Whale Wars Two will elevate the success of this program even more. When I first spoke to Animal Planet about the show, I pointed out that the Deadliest Catch was Discovery's most watched show and all it had was a bunch of men sailing into remote freezing waters in hostile conditions to catch crabs for money. What Sea Shepherd could offer was a crew of volunteer men and women on a larger ship sailing into far more remote, hostile, and colder waters to defend the great whales for reasons of compassion. In Deadliest Catch, the crabs don't fight back. In Whale Wars the whalers retaliate with concussion grenades and bullets. With Deadliest Catch, you get crabs and more crabs. With Whale Wars you get whales and leopard seals, albatross, penguins, and Orcas. You also get magnificent icebergs, deadly ice floes, and growlers. You also get passion, the kind of passion that can only be found in dedicated volunteers like Giles and Pottsy boarding a Japanese harpoon vessel at full speed, or crewmembers standing firm in the face of concussion grenades and bullets. I learned long ago that the most powerful weapon on the planet is the camera and it is these cameras that will win the war to save the whales. During the last few years, three major documentaries have been produced about Sea Shepherd campaigns. The first was Rob Stewarts's Sharkwater, and in the last year Ron Colby released A Pirate for the Sea and Dan Stone released At the Edge of the World. A Pirate for the Sea is a biography about me that Ron Colby spent 8 years making. Ron participated in the 2005/06 Antarctic Whale Defense campaign. At the Edge of the World directed by Tim Gorski covers the 2006/07 Antarctic Whale Defense campaign. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has signed for a third season of Whale Wars and when we return to those treacherous Southern Ocean waters in December, Animal Planet will be onboard with me and my crew again. To stop the criminal whaling operations in Antarctica we need more than imaginative and courageous confrontations. We can't stop these vicious killers with just rotten butter and harassment tactics. We need the power that only a hit television series can provide, and we have that hit series.
