Who are we?
Cathartic is a fun art and craft group, held weekly at Lancaster Library. It is aimed at people with long-term illness and disability. Our purpose is to provide a friendly, accessible and rewarding art group for those of all interests and abilities.
What do we do?
Currently we have a professional art tutor, Graham Lowe, giving us basic help and guidance. This ranges from teaching us how to use colour, to demonstrating basic techniques.
Everyone attending is a different level, from complete beginners to more experienced. Some people join in the lessons, others do their own thing.
We have a supply of basic materials too, so everyone is more than welcome!
When is it?
The group is a drop-in session, every Tuesday,between 2 and 4pm.
Who can attend?
The group was set up by people with illness or disabilities, to accomodate for their specific needs.
However we are open to anyone interested, as long the group remains fun, accessible and welcoming to those with illness or disabilites.
How much is it?
Our group is free, but usually we have a voluntary donation of £1, to cover costs
If you have any queries or specific needs, please contact us. We know that attending a new group can be difficult, so we are happy to try and arrange anything that will help you get to our group.
