There are so many wonderful quotes out there that I wish I could make into stamps. I used one such quotes on this card by one of my favorite historical figures, Charles Spurgeon, known as the Prince of Preachers. I just love it.Flowers...are but the thoughts of God solidified -God’s beautiful thoughts put into shape."~ Charles Spurgeon ~The image on my card is my own illustration, which you can download from this post. I did a clean and simple card using StampTV's color challenge this week to use red and black (or any shades of either colors). Cathy does a great job highlighting the trends not only in paper crafting, but in fashion and housewares, etc. You can always find inspiration from her posts. She also has lots of giveaways and sometimes challenges. The current one is to make an encouragement card with wet weather gear (umbrellas, wellies or raincoats) on it.Here are the cards I made for this challenge. I cut the umbrella top using the Oval Nestabilities die and slit punch. I hand cut the handles. I printed the sentiment on the computer and added some paper piercing. The top card uses patterned papers from Imagine That. The bottom card's base is from that Ikea card set I bought a couple of years ago. My quote is this Bible verse, one of my favorites that I use it often on my cards. I just love the new Card Patterns sketch that I have to use it again. This time I flipped it sideways.I printed the verse small enough to fit in the Curly label punch. The patterned papers were designed by me. I just got the latest Photoshop and I'm slowly learning to use it. It takes time to figure it out and I'm thankful for all the tutorials out there on how to use it. I'll just have to find the time to go through them.I will give these papers away in a future post, so stay tuned. I think they go very well with the free flower digi stamp I gave away last week. There was no stamping done here. Other supplies I used are: Aqua Mist and True Black CS by PTI, Black Gingham ribbon by PTI, Silver pearls by Michael's. Hibiscut Burst button by PTI. Here's their fun sketch:Those little squares together really remind me of a window. I flipped the sketch and made this card:Can you believe I got this card base from Ikea? They sold them awhile ago for really cheap - like 20 cards and envelopes for 2 Euros. They're kraft with a patterned front.
