It has been a while since I have got into my blog. I just finished coming back from my 1 year anniversary cruise! It was awesome. What is better than being on a huge ship, sun tanning, relaxing, reading a book, eating anytime and how much you want, having entertainment every hour, swimming, watching movies, meeting new people, and eating some more! Nothing! That is Carnival Cruise for you. That's what me and my wife did and more. If you have never gone on a cruise I highly recommend it. It was my second cruise and it won't be my last. We took a 5 night cruise to the Bahamas. We stopped at Nassau and Half Cay Moon. We took a bunch of pictures for you's to see how awesome it was overthere. We are in the boat. Clouds don't look good but it didn't rain and weather turned out to be good.Check out one of our many dishes througout the cruise. Um Um good! This is me and my wife (Jennifer, doesn't she look beautiful!) This was our Captain's Dinner night in the cruise. One night out of the cruise they hold a Captain's dinner night where everyone dresses elegantly and we eat a very fancy dinner and show. This was one of our 3 shows. This our broadway type show! they are that good. This was in Nassau, Bahamas. Doesn't it look like a postcard or a screensaver!Check me and my sexy wife out! I blend right in right? I look like a tourist!Look at that water, is that awesome or what! That was in Half Moon Cay, Bahamas. It was one of the most amazingest (if that is a word) beaches that I have seen so far.Well, I do have hundreds of more pictures but I am not about to post all of them up. Overrall me and my wife had a tremendous time together celebrating our 1 year anniversay that went so fast. I am excited and can't wait to continue this journey with her. I love you baby and I can't wait to share more memories with you! Muah!Until next timeStay blessed Posted by johnnysierra at 6:59 AM 0 comments Links to this post Labels: The Daily Life Wednesday, October 29, 2008 Closer To You by Johnny Sierra I am starting up a new label titled Songwriter's Circle. God is good! This weekend has been interesting I have to say but I am still enjoying every minute of it. We'll it was about 2 weeks since I last went to the studio to continue working on my single, "Closer to You", until yesterday. I got back together with my good friend Rob and it was another awesome time singing and putting music together. Man I wish I could do this full time, hopefully one day, God willing. Anyways I am excited to say that we are almost done! Throughout the 2 weeks that I wasn't in the studio, I was working on adding another verse as well as a powerful bridge. I was also getting some feed back from other songwriters/worship leaders regarding the lyrics, so I ended up making some lyrical changes to the song as well. But thank that I was able to finish the song and bring it to the studio. My man Rob is still working on some mixes but overall the song is pretty much complete. Check out some pics!Check me out! I am getting ready to lay down some lyrics!I am still in the process of memorizing my lyrics so bear with me!The techno guru (Rob) is at work! This guys is a genius! He has been a big blessing in my life. He did all the musical arrangements as well as all the mixes (and all that good stuff).Overall it has been an amazing experience that has humbled me and shown me God's favor over my life. I can't wait to continue to more songs and hopefully get a cd going with a record label, but I don't want to get ahead of myself, I will take it day by day, trusting more and more in my Lord Jesus Christ.Your probably wanting to hear the song already (and I don't blame you I talk to much). Well here it is!Closer to You by Johnny SierraMusic arrangement and Production by Rob Goodlinghttp://robgundling.com/band/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/closer-to-you.mp3 Posted by johnnysierra at 11:45 AM 0 comments Links to this post Labels: Studio Life Saturday, October 25, 2008 October 24-26th Setlist What's going on everybody! It is about 11:51pm right now and I just wanted to drop off my setlist for this weekend. We had our youth service last night and we had a great tim in God's presence. We faced some challenges and difficulties throughout our practices, that if we let could have affected our approach and our mentality in our worship set. To be honest with you this week was probably the most difficult week, worship wise. But God has continued to be faithful. Anyways this was our worship set.Blessed be the Lord by Martha MunizziThis was a very fun and alive type of song with a mixture of modern sound and latin sound! My Soul longs for you by Misty EdwardsI think musically speaking this is one of our best songs that we do. I really enjoy doing this song, there is just something about it that draws me to it.Above All by Michael W. SmithGreat song! We blew the dust out of this one! We haven't done this song in a very long time. It just came to mind and lyrically it is what I wanted to express to God's children.God of this city by Chris TomlinAnother great song! This was our new song this week. Physically speaking this song, for some reason seemed to be a very difficult song to accomplish musically and a little vocally as well. I still believe that we can get this song done more better and bring out the message more stronger. This song to me is a very prophetic song and it is a song that we want to emphasize to our people. That God is the God of our city!I know who I am by Israel HoughtonAnother fun song that we do. I enjoy doing this song, it is one of our newer ones so it still sounds fresh.Overall worship on Friday was great. Not only did we have a great time in worship but Friday night was a special service. We introduced our new youth group name. Our new name is RAZE!The name was inspired by the first chapter of Jeremiah, where God calls Jeremiah! And the meaning of the name is even more amazing. When you get a chance check out the meaning of the name you will be blown away. Just dropped off these pictures from friday night! Awesome right! We had a great time. We'll our Sunday set was really awesome. We did the exact same lineup as Friday night. Throughout our worship set, I really spoke in depth about Jesus Christ dying on the cross. That just continued to stick to mind brain this whole morning. I am glad that I did because Pastor Rocky spoke about that as well and it was great to be able to be aligned together. To God be the glory for everything that we have been able to accomplish! Thank you Jesus!Until next timeStay blessed!P.S. This setlist is also a part of “Sunday Setlists” blog carnival hosted at FredMcKinnon.Com.http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/category/sunday-setlists/ Posted by johnnysierra at 8:50 PM 0 comments Links to this post Labels: Spirit and Truth Wednesday, October 22, 2008 Play Ball! Game 1 Baseball the great american sport! What's up everybody! Sorry you haven't heard from me in a couple of days, I've just been a little lazy in blogging! Anyways I didn't get to fully descibe to you my last weekend. Outside of being a worship leader, songwriter, cell group leader, husband, brother, architectural drafter, and blogger, I am a baseball player! I love to play baseball. I love smelling the grass, putting on the uniform and the leather baseball glove, throwing/batting baseballs and getting dirty! I got back into the sport last year and now this is my second straight season playing hard ball. I recommend every worship leader take on a hobby for themselves, outside of minitry, just so that they can get there minds off of the stress that ministry sometimes brings and relax and do something fun and entertaining. That is what I did! and it is great. I get to put my mind on other things other than ministry and have some fun (not that leading worship is not).Anyways we had our first game of the season last Saturday night and it was awesome. Here are some pics. That is me getting ready to smack the ball out of the park (of course I didn't do that) Man I look like a major league baseball player! This is a wood bat hard ball league, which means that pitches get to the 70-85mph range. Please pray hard for me every Saturday night so that I don't get hit by a pitch and have to miss worship the next day! Here is me and my brother getting on to the field to play defense! I played shortstop (which usually I play 2nd base) and my brother played left field.Check out our crazy FANatics! Here is me on the left and my brother Jovanny on the right. We played a hard fought game. We lost 11 to 15 but it was a really good game. If you are a fan of baseball or not you would have been entertained watching this game.I played pretty good I was 1 for 3 with a strikeout, single, and walk. I am proud of myself. This is what I do in my spare time away from ministry. So what do you do in your spare time away from worship leading, practices/rehearsals, planning, meetings, etc? Please shareUntil next timeStay blessed!
