"I want to change my name to Britney," Thing 1 marched in and announced to me a few weeks ago. This was completely out of the blue. I've never even heard her use the name Britney before. I doubt she knows who B Spears is since she doesn't get much air time on Disney. I just shrugged my shoulders and said, "OK," and figured that would be the end of it.She hasn't mentioned it since. However, DH discovered something interesting on her school work last week. On the name line of her papers, she had written "Britney." We're still snickering about that one. I spent all of last week trying to teach her that was is w-a-s and not w-u-s or w-o-s. So, she can't spell was without a struggle, but she pens Britney like it really is her name. I don't get it.I e-mailed her teacher and she told me Thing 1's best friend wants to change her name to Allison, so apparently it's something the two of them have concocted. We think it's pretty funny, so we haven't really said much to her about it. We're just going to wait and see how it plays out...
