Well hello there, I know, I know I haven’t posted anything in quite awhile, but I really don’t have any such excuse as to why, except for nothing really caught my ears so to speak. I also know that for me to post a Michael Jackson song would be topical yet, not me as I only really care for a couple of his songs. [ Editors Note: R.I.P Michael Jackson, you really made a mark on this world with both your musical talents and your groundbreaking revolutions to the music industry, it’s too bad that you yourself couldn’t find some peace in this world, you will be missed. ]
On that note however, I will talk about why I am posting Feeling This by blink-182 [NSFW].
I have been a fan of theirs for ages, since way back in the day they will always remain on my top faves list for music and even now I still find myself wanting to listen to their songs, though my music tastes have clearly changed. I am fortunate to be able to attend one of their upcoming concerts now that they have reunited and I just know it will be epic. I seriously cannot wait.
Feeling This is one of those songs that just serve more than one main purpose. A) It’s catchy, yet cleverly written. B) It has a meaningful message within the lyrics of the song and C) It showcased that blink-182 had matured since their last album and let their musical talents and creative minds evolve along with them. The song, interestingly enough is about sex, but the way the song goes about this subject is of higher importance. The main verses deal with the raw, lustful side of sex while the chorus is the opposite; tender, loving much more romantic side that is just as important. The story of how the song came to be is as such; Tom and Mark are sent off into seperate rooms to write lyrics for a song, when they come together they discover that they had each written about sex, each one however had written about it different than the other. Clearly an interesting concept, even better was that the song near the end, showcases Mark and Tom intertwining their vocals that tie the whole song together. It has always been a fave of mine, even when my friends were like; “Dude, what happened to blink-182? They aren’t that good anymore.†I would always look back at them and smile and say, “No, they aren’t good anymore, they are better.â€
The song comes straight off of the album “blink-182†and while I don’t know when I will post next, I can say that I really can ramble on should I need to. Enjoy! [NSFW]
