See Lo's post below for her full R.E. visit update and today's phone calls before you read this.----------------So, Dr. Paisan called my wife today to tell her that her CD2 blood results were back. Everything is fine (which I assume means FSH is fine) EXCEPT (there's always an except) her E2 (estradiol) levels were elevated. He thinks it's probably a cyst, but it could also be a sign of impaired ovarian function. She should call for her MIS results next Thursday, which will give a better idea if there is a problem with her ovarian function. So, now Lo is presuming the worst...or at least worrying about her fertility. One freaking day after the R.E. appointment when she felt all reassured and was prepared to be less aggressive than I was when I was TTC.Why the f**k did the doctor call? Why couldn't he have waited until all the results were in before calling? Does he not understand how terrifying it is to a woman who wants to get pregnant to hear that she may have a problem with the functioning of her ovaries, slim though that may be? Does he not understand that such a woman will likely not hear the "it's probably just a cyst leftover from your last cycle" as loudly as she hears "problem with ovarian function"?I will say this for Dr. Quick, my R.E.... he didn't meet with me until all my tests were done and all my results were in. I think that makes infinitely more sense.I will be doing my utmost to plow my wife with white wine to get her to next Thursday.I will reassure her that no matter what happens, we will have our second baby.I will make a voodoo doll of Dr. Paisan and poke him in the... okay, I won't. (The doll Co describes is likely a practice of European folk magic as opposed to West African or Haitian vodun ritual -- Ed.)
