I’m here, I’m here. It has been a busy time and my computer has grown mossy and is covered in dust. I have a hand full of things to write about, none of which I have time for right now, but I just wanted to check-in in a sort of brief meandering way.
The headline is that the visits with friends was awesome and perfectly timed. Honestly if I didn’t have some real distractions these past few days would have been brutally depressing.
GM is adjusting, slowly. Mother and I visit her every day- some days together, some days just one of us goes. Sunday Marta went with me and GM was very chirpy and lucid. GM seems to think that she is a boarder in an eccentric hotel. The best quip of the visit was her telling Marta and I about her roommate, “She is elderly, but I don’t hold that against her.”
The party with the rain was perfect. It was low key and fun and it was so fucking special and wonderful. Only one game was played and it didn’t involve measuring my ass. Phew!
Mother had some medical tests done yesterday (routine colonoscopy and an investigatory endoscopy). The first test was all clear. But the endo- to find out why Mother has been having weird cough issues and breathing issues- was inconclusive. She will need to see an ENT to have more tests. The doctor that performed the test yesterday says that it could be a nerve/MS thing. We are just trying to get Mother into the docs NOW before the whole COBRA health switch happens.
WARNING: OB talk
We leave in a few minutes to go to my OB appointment. I have been having some pretty brutal back pain lately and daily Toni Braxtons. My hands are swelling and it hurts like a mofo to even bend my fingers some mornings. This is the first OB appointment that Mother has been able to go with- so that is kind of cool. We might do a tour of the hospital afterwards. Then we will head downtown to have lunch and a visit with GM.
A better post soon. And I promise there will be photos! I am horribly out of touch right now and haven’t even checked my e-mail or blogs since before the weekend. Will catch up this week as I begin the epic loads of Snork laundry.
