Each Saturday, I detail what I spent and saved at the stores that week. I did this sporadically in 2009; this weekly post is my way of keeping myself on track in 2010.
I'll be adding a Savings/Earning tracker in my sidebar to track my progress in 2010. I hope it keeps me motivated and inspires you as well! What I Saved at the Stores: Week 4 (Jan 25-31KrogerSpent: $45.38Saved: $45.42 (51%)For the full breakdown of the deals I found and the coupons I used, read my weekly Let's Go Krogering! post.2nd Trip to Kroger 01/27 (No picture - took advantage of the catalina deal on Old El Paso Products; click here to read about how you can get this deal through 2/21/10, too!)Spent: $3.50Saved: $8.84 (71%)Earned: $3.00 catalina OYNO of Chicken or BeefWalgreens Spent: $5.72Saved: $41.65 (88%)Earned: $3.00 RRsSubmitted for Olay Quench Rebate to earn $15.98CVSSpent: $1.42Saved: $3.38 (70%)AldiSpent: $7.99Saved: $0.00 (Price breakdown: Flour, 5lbs: $1.15; Napkins, 250 ct, $1.49; Eggs, 1 doz, $0.84, Tortillas, 12 ct, $0.99, Roma Tomatoes, 20 oz, $1.29, Ketchup, 32 oz, $1.29)--------++++++++++++--------Weekly Totals

My weekly goal for my grocery/household budget is $80/week. As of 01/30, with four weeks tallied, I've spent $342.90 and saved $416.31, or 55%.
I'm officially $24 over budget for this month, but I'm not sweating it. I bought (4) 20 lb bags of Iams dog food for about $10/bag ($40 total) earlier this month when the P&G Mega Event at Kroger was under way. Normally I have a separate line item in my budget for dog food but this month, I didn't do that; I simply tried to keep my weekly spending overall at $80. If I were to subtract the dog food, I'd be well under budget for the month which is good enough for me!
